Hoot Lake

Fergus Falls, MN.

Three coal-fired (western subbituminous) units and one hydroelectric unit.

Owned by Otter Tail Power Company.

Completed in 1948, 1959, and 1964, the coal-fired units have capacities of 8, 64, and 84 megawatts respectively. The hydro unit, which began producing electrity in 1919, generates slightly less than 1 megawatt.
